Speed, Strength, and Agility Training

Whether you're training for a specific event or just want to improve your athleticism, physical therapy can help you boost your performance while avoiding injuries.

Athletic Performance Screening

The physical therapy staff at Broadway Physical Therapy has designed a screening program for teams or individuals who are interested in injury prevention and improving athletic performance. The athletic assessment includes seven individual tests that examine:

  • Strength and flexibility
  • Static and dynamic balance
  • Foot type and body alignment

After the screening, each athlete will be provided an analysis of their results with specific exercises and suggestions to address any deficiencies. Team coaches will also be provided a detailed summary of the team's results.

About the McKenzie Method

The McKenzie Method (MDT; Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy) was developed by Robin McKenzie from New Zealand. This method is designed to identify mechanical problems and is a systematic approach to decreasing pain by improving movement dysfunction.

Our physical therapists Ellen Grover and Anne Bower are both certified in the Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT) through the McKenzie Institute International (MII). If you would like to learn more, or are interested in the McKenzie Method please watch the video, visit their website, or schedule an appointment.
